Hi,
I have a Thorens TD126 Mk III, and need a circuit diagram for its electronics. There are HUGE numbers of schematics out there: many in Vinyl Engine. But they are all of the earlier (pre serial 47000 ish) version, as are all of those in the documents on Vinyl Engine. The earlier version has discrete transistor supply regulators, whereas the later version - which is what I have - has IC regulators.
Any thoughts as to where can I get a circuit schematic of this later version? I know it exists out there, as a small section of it appears in a photo on a 126 restoration site.
Many thanks,
David

Hello David,
Download the German language service manual from VE. You can use the English version for text, but the German one has better quality schematics which have not been cut off in the scan.
Hope this helps.

The information you want is contained in pages 18 -27.
Hello David,
Has the information we have given you helped? Let us know how you are getting on with your Thorens 126/III.

Hi Barry,
Thank you for your earlier reply and help.
However, unless I have to subscribe to Scribd to get more of the document, which shows it, what is shown when I just click on the link you gave me does not help! It shows the version of the circuit diagram with the discrete transistors in the power supply - the one I don't want! Any thoughts? It must exist somewhere!
David
The link to the German language version of the Manual for the TD126 III, (as given by "felixbo" to your post on the Vinyl Engine forum), gives the circuit diagrams for:
(1) serial numbers up to and including 47275 (page 18 et seq.), that, is the earlier versions with voltage regulator ICs in the power supply. I think this is the one you want.
(2) serial numbers from 47275 (page 28 et seq.), the later version with discrete transistors to regulate the power supply. This is not the one you want.
What is the serial number of your turntable?

Barry,
You have those flipped. The early version uses discrete transistors, while the later version (circuit diagrams on pages 35, 36 as noted in my VE reply) uses the voltage regulators. No need to subscribe to anything., David, available on VE.
Now I've confused matters, yes the early version (Gültig bis Geräte-Nr. 47275 ("Valid up to unit number 47275)) starting on page 18, does indeed show in the circuit diagram on p.24, discrete transistors used as voltage regulators.
Whereas on page 28 covers later versions (Gültig ab Geräte-Nr. 47276 ("Valid from unit number 47276)), with the circuit diagram on p.35, showing ICs (Z105 and Z106) used as voltage regulators.
So my mistake: David did say he was looking for the circuit diagrams for his later version. Whatever the serial number of his turntable is, he ought to find the correct diagram in the document 'flexibo' provided on the Vinyl Engine forum in the post David started.

Thanks so much Angus & Barry (and Felix on VE).
How I missed that I don't know - I thought I had checked every one of the service manuals on VE, German or otherwise!
Now saved and printed.
Getting old....
Best wishes, and thanks again.
David
I'm glad we all got it sorted, one way or another. :)
Let us know how you get on.
