High quality headphone amp using the THX AAA 888 circuit producing up to 3W output so capable of driving the most demanding headphones. It also has a remote control 100 step volume control with 2 gain settings so it has perfect channel matching and is transparent to the source.
Unlike other amps using the THX circuit, reviews say this is a bit warmer and less clinical while retaining the detail and transparency THX amps are known for, which is why I chose it.
If you look at the Benchmark HPA4 at £3,599 you'll find this is remarkably close in technology for the money. The main difference I can see is the Benchmark has 2 circuits for true balanced, but given the output of this, do you really need to go balanced?
