My remote for my Pathos amp has suddenly stopped working , have changed the batteries but still nothing.
Is there such a thing as a universal remote for hifi amps , similar to those for the TV?
Which model is your Pathos amp?

Which model is your Pathos amp?
Pathos Classic Remix Amp, Dac. Barry
I have had a look on the Web, and there is a company: https://www.remote-control-world.eu , who offer two remote controls for Pathos amps. They are 'duplicate' designs for the Pathos Classic One Mk.III Logos, and the second is for the Pathos Digit, a compatible General-branded remote control.
It is claimed that these universal remotes work across most, if not all, of the Pathos range, but I would advise caution, as I have in the past bought a supposedly universal remote control for TVs which simply didn't work at all. Caveat emptor

Thanks Barry,
Had a look and filled the requested information, but it was identified as spam, tried 3 times , same result.
All very strange just received an email from them acknowledging my request.

Robin,
Just a warning from another Pathos owner (Logos in my case) - it may be the receiver, rather than the handset. Mine has gone in my amp, again. You can actually see if your remote is working by pointing it at a digital camera (e.g. on your phone) and pressing the buttons; the camera phone will have enough IR pickup to be able to see the LED light up, even if your eyes can't.

Robin,
I've no idea about fixing the receiver or the remote myself, nor how much it would cost to get it repaired on its own. I'm not fussed by it and I get it fixed every time the amp goes off for its service every five years or so.

Just a wee update on the remote issue, I tried the company Barry mentioned, who initially said that could supply a replacement but have now stated that they are unable to. I have emailed Pathos no reply so far, and have spoken to the UK distributors who have contacted Pathos but no response so far.
I can of course still operated the amp manually.

That sounds like progress of a sort; I have high hopes Pathos and/or Nexus can help.

A further update, Pathos have not replied to me but have eventually responded to the UK distributors Nintronics.
Pathos have finally stated that they can supply a new remote but will probably take 3/4 weeks to arrive.

Final update in the Remote saga.
The new remote has arrived 2 or 3 weeks earlier than was stated.
Although the same shape as my original, has been upgraded significantly, much better production all round, each button is now labeled unlike mine, different batteries and most importantly works perfect .
That's a good outcome Robin. Well done all round. :)

Thanks Barry, was never going to be cheap, going through the UK Distributors ( who were great to be honest) and of course it was coming from Italy, but so far very happy , as its a much better product than the original remote.
