The “Gaffer” had health issues I knew about,
but it’s been a minute, and wondering if anyone knows if he’s doing ok these days?

Miss him and his voice on the Forum.

Obviously no need to know any personal stuff, just thinking about the Guy and hoping things good for him.

Same here Gaz, with this time of year 'Goodwill to all men' may be a cliché but he has been missing for too long.

Marco has been suffering with Long Covid for the last four years. I occasionally speak with Del, his wife, to ask how things are. All I can say is that Marco is getting better, but it's a slow progress. With good fortune I hope we will hear from him in 2026, but Marco's recovery will take as long as is necessary.

He's had four years away from the scene, that's probably enough time for him to start to formulate some new ideas on his vinyl replay system!!!!!! It's a real bugger how COVID had little impact on some folks but had a massive on others, like Marco.

it's hard to accept that someone as irrepressible as Marco can be laid so low for so long. He was round my place a couple of months prior to his getting ill and was his usual self. Only seems like yesterday. Still, I'm sure he'll be back at some point.

I think Kate Garroway's deceased husband (RIP) is the best example of a case for Long COVID. I never had any friends, family, or associates with a case of long covid so I wonder aboout the occurance rate.

Here’s to Marco rearing his ugly opinionated head here again in 2026! :D
Miss the bugger.

My sister-in-law has had long covid for the last 3 years, for the first 2 years she couldn't go out of the house and struggled to get up and down the stairs without help. even now the max she can walk without resting is 100yds, she has been told that her lungs are scared for life and they want her to be on oxygen 24/7 with the nose tubes. She has recovered to 40% of what she used to be and will never recover anymore. She's lost her job, nearly missed her daughters wedding but went in a wheelchair. Long covid is a horrible condition as nobody really knows how to treat it, the latest is they now treat as if the person has CFS, (the old ME, yuppie flu) but again there is no cure !! I wish Marco all the best but it will be a long and tortuous road back to a fraction of his former self.

OMG! Has it been 4 years. Haven't been here for ages because it's not the same without Marco. Good to hear he should be coming back. I thought I heard his wife had long COVID too? Or was that wrong?

That's some story, Mike. I've always wondered if Long Covid has always been with us but we've recognised it as something different, possibly giving it many different names in the past but ultimately it being the same thing?

I have been hoping Marco would return - sorry to hear about the health issues - but obviously he has had other things to deal with.

I think Grant used to talk to him, and I had one conversation with Marco just before Covid.

The world changes, and interests move on, but it would be good to keep some form of contact.

Maybe he will eventually decide to come back to these parts.
