I wouldn't go to Darko for advice on hi-fi but he's on the money about this:

We really need the death sentence for reviewers using these tired old phrases. Subjective reviewing has got a lot worse over the years. Filling the review with banalities like 'Sounds analogue' or 'Sounds musical' ultimately tells you absolutely nothing of any value.

What happened to the reviewers who could seamlessly link the subjective with the technical? (Most of them have passed away, I guess).

If they don't up their game they will end up being replaced by A.I

Yes, I read that article a while back and thought it was prescient. The worse period for that kind of reviewing IMO was in the '70s - '80s, with magazines like HiFi Answers, HiFi Review, and others who fell for the Linn/Naim propaganda.
