Rega EL8 Connection Panel Removal

Can anyone help me with this please?
A friend of mine has a pair of Rega EL8's, one of which has a broken binding post. I have a spare binding post and thought that it would be an easy fix but I was wrong!
Having removed the Torx screws holding the connection panel I thought it would come out easily but it doesn't. I can lift it about 2 cms but no further and I cannot see what is stopping it from coming out. I obviously don't want to break anything so if anyone has any advice for me I would be very grateful.

Is it the internal wiring that is preventing the panel to be moved further away? Can you see how the wires are attached to the binding post, and how the binding post is fitted to the panel?

2 cm is not much room to play with, but if you have the right tools (spanners etc.) you ought to be able change the terminal.

Hi Barry, thanks for your reply. I can look into the cabinet just far enough to see that the binding posts are directly attached to the crossover board. It is not the shortness of the connecting wires that is preventing the panel removal. Surely the panel would have gone in last so it should come out! I can just about see the nut holding the binding post and I have spanners small enough to undo it (with difficulty!) but there is no way that I could get a nut on again, unless I am able to get the connection panel out of the cabinet.

Most speakers I have looked at need the binding posts and (usually) the crossover connected from the front. You will need to remove the bass speaker. On some makes the woofer is glued in to the box making the whole job difficult if not impossible.
Try to remove the biggest driver and see if you can access the binding post nuts from the front.
