For Sale Black ICE DAC recently purchased from Robert Airey (Open Door) for my brother-in-law who now does not need it. This was Roberts personal DAC and it sounds great but I do not need 2!

Modifications:

Output caps are Mundorf ZN but due to their size I’ve had to add a 3D printed base riser. This then allows one to add other larger caps that would never have possible due to the cramped spacing in the chassis.

This dac is one of a very few that Robert imported from Black Ice themselves having worked the output tube board by adding 12x Vishay Naked Z-Foil resistors at great cost.

Upgrade spec:
• Furutech gold IEC
• QSA Black fuse
• Audio Note silver plated output RCA’s
• Cast silver ptfe wrapped output wiring
• Output caps Mundorf ZN but now space for bigger options if wanted. I do rate the ZN in the dac as very ‘speedy’
• Resistors on tube output board upgraded to Vishay Z-Foils (12 of them - big upgrade and costly at £25 to £36 pound each!)
• electrolytic cap on dac board now Audio Note Seiyru (nothing else will fit)
• Headphone volume pot and output volume bypassed (disconnected)
• WiFi board disconnected
• Power supply caps now a mix of a Teflon tin foil S3Q cap, Audio Note Seiyru and AN Standard electrolytic capacitors and Mills resistors (inline to the tubes)
• RDC feet x3
• Output tubes are Sylvania JHS 5751’s, black plate triple meca @ £175 a pair
• Added an extra grounding point on the dac board to reduce noise
• Also on the IEC I added a ground point for the likes of an Entreq (seen in pic)

£700 including postage or pick up from Horsham, West Sussex or Sutton, Outer London

All original packaging and handbook included

You need to copy across all the photos you have on pinkfishmedia for this sale item. Don't expect interested buyers to have to go to PFM, and enrol if necessary, to see the images.
