Recommendation for xlr headphone cable? ta.

New preamp uses a pair of its XLR outputs to drive headphones,

so I'm looking for a balanced 2 x 3pin XLR female to 1 x 4 pin female adapter cable.
This will let me hook up the headphones using a standard 4 pin balanced cable.

Any reccomendations folks?

Were it I, I would make up the cable myself, but unless you are nifty with a soldering iron, I would suggest you try designacable.com .

They can make up any cable on request using quality connector, such as Neutrik, with a range of quality cable offered. They are fast and the costs are quite reasonable.

I wouldn't like to recommend any particular cable, save to say that for headphone use it should be fairly long (say at least 4 metre; depending on how close you will be sitting from the headphone amp) and it should be very flexible.

I would recommend Van Damme 'Contractor' shotgun-style twin balanced line cable. This option is offered by designacable.com.

Thanks.What's the model Gary I've not seen a pre with that type of headphone out. I do have a pair of monobloc valve headphone amps with that configuration, I think I bought a cable off eBay for them I'll try and dig it out and have a look. I haven't used it for years, silly really.

Its a Holo Audio Serene KTE preamp Lawrence.
A good match for my May dac, apparently was designed specifically for it.

Unusual headphone setup though!
