Slimming down the collection, this is the most powerful Rotel integrated created during the 1990s. An absolute powerhouse, but one that completely avoids the typical glassiness of big Jap amps of that era.
This one has been fully serviced, using simpatico parts. Power amp features mostly Silmics, a smattering of Nichicon Muse, some WIMAs... changed out absolutely anything and everything that needed changing. Main reservoir caps were originally black-wrapped BHC 10,000uf slit-foils ((designed by Dennis Morecroft, I believe) and were well past their sell-by date. Changed those out for their up to date DNM equivalents (which I highly recommend to one and all).
Only section that got left alone was the pre-amp stage, which is still packed with Black Gates, all of which measure - and sound - absolutely fine.
Features a great MM/MC phono stage, splittable pre/power sections, tone defeat, and a mono switch. All controls Deoxited and fully working, bias set to where it should be.
Sounds blooming' marvellous...
Going to list this for collection only from Bedford as it's quite a heavy amp and I don't have the original packaging. Demo happily given, obviously.
Can't imagine you'll get anything better for £300...
