Imf als 30

Afternoon all.
I have an outside chance of getting a pair of these speakers and other than having read positive comments about IMF speakers in general, I know very little about the ALS 30s.
Would anyone have any first hand experience/advice?
I’ve done a quick review and there appear to be two 6.5-inch bass drivers, a 4-inch mid-range driver, and a dome tweeter. They are transmission line.
I’m guessing they/re about 50 years old. Just wondering if drivers are perhaps KEF units?

They're not transmission line but smaller "active line" which is something to do with having 2 different bass drivers at either end of a short line that somehow interact to give better bass in a smaller cabinet. I'm not going to claim to understand the theory but there's some more details here. I'm pretty sure none of the bass drivers are Kef. The bigger ones had Kef drivers in the earlier days but as they got bigger they started to develop (and presumably manufacture but I'm not sure about this) their own drive units.

I don't think IMF ever made their own drivers - over time they used Elac, EMI, KEF, Coles and Audax - and possibly some others.

I'd get the ALS30s if the price isn't silly. They're probably pretty good.

Looks like they’ve already sold.
Had I lived a bit closer to the seller, I’d have taken a punt and driven over to view. But being a out a 3 hour round trip, thought it sensible to try and find out a little about the drivers before doing anything.
Sadly, this time things didn’t work out. Hey ho!

It was just a spur of the moment thing. I saw them on FB and asked a few questions as there wasn’t a photo of the drivers.
In the meantime, they’d sold.
Had I bought them, they would probably have gone in the conservatory until I had time to check them over.
