I am looking for a Step Up Transformer with a 1:10 ratio, hoping to spend around £200 although can stretch that for something special. Let me know what you have.

Cheers
John

I'd highly recommend having a word with this seller on ebay- this ad is for 1:6, but he says he has 1:10 available. I bought a pair of 1:16 for my Koetsu, they are superb, and sound better than my Tribute SUT, which is no slouch. Absolute bargain given the sound quality on offer. Partridge made some of the best transformers around back then.

Thanks for the lead, in fact 1:6 will work for me. I notice there don't appear to be any input or output RCA connectors, I don't have any technical abilities, how did you go about connecting the sut's to your Turntable leads. Thanks John

I bought this box-

https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B08XQTSPZZ?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1

Drilled a couple of holes with a 29mm hole saw to fit the SUT's with the clamps that came with the step ups, then bought four RCA's and a short length of screened cable, drilled the box for the RCA's and wired it up. Dead easy to do. Also drilled for a bolt to use as ground-

It's not the prettiest box but you could choose something nicer if you like, I used this as it's non ferrous and provides good shielding/grounding.

He also has a wiring diagram-

Obviously this is for one SUT so you do this twice.

If you're not confident doing this send them to me, I'll do it for you.

Ali, thank you so much for the information and offer to help. I will move to DM once I've been in touch with the ebay seller to establish what sut will best suit my mc cartridge.

I’d recommend 1:16 if he has any left, or go with the 1:10.

I had the 1:10 many moons ago and can recommend... Excellent sound.

They are good transformers. I’ve had in the past Hashimoto, vintage Luxman, Mayware, Audio Note and Klangfilm. Also have Tribute which are very good, but these Partridge are the best I’ve had at home, with the Koetsu at least.

These are a bloody bargain at the price.

Just to close off this thread, I took Ali's advice and purchased the Partridge SUTs from ebay. He then very kindly assembled a unit for me and it arrived today. First impressions are that these are truly superb transformers and a great build job by Ali.
