Proper classic Sony receiver, battleship build, fabulous sound quality. Great phono stage, lovely sensitive FM section (all bulbs working, MW aerial is intact, just slid it along to show the extra set of speaker terminals). Individual, dual-ganged controls to allow bass and treble to be independently adjusted for both channels. Total overkill but that was Sony in the 70s...
All controls and inputs working smoothly as the gods at Sony intended. Measured the caps, all within spec for capacitance/ESR (gotta love Elnas), bar one 1000uf which was showing around 1500uF. Was probably fine, tbh, but changed out it anyway. Cable-tied it to the terminals of the out of spec one so you can revert to the previous one, if you wish - sounds even better, though, so don't know why you would.
Beefy, solid unmarked aluminium fascia, knurled aluminium knobs, toggles that switch with a satisfying thunk.
Collection only from Wilden, Bedford please (don't wish to post), £175 to established members.
