In the process of setting up my man cave. Sources are- Technics SP10 MK2 with Tenuto mat in a Panzerholz plinth. Arm is a 12" Reed 3P with various carts in rotation- Koestsu Goldline Black (A low hours original example), Nagaoka MP700, Hana SH and a few vintage MM's- Acutex and Empire among them. Also have a near mint example of a Technics SL7 with Jico S-SAS stylus. I serviced it and recapped as there was some corrosion evident on some of the 'lytics. Phono stage is a Modwright SWP 9.0se.
Lector CDP7TL takes care of the silver discs. Streaming is a Lumin D2 fed via a Stack Audio Smoothlan Regenerator which feeds into a Gustard R26. Also have a couple of reel to reels- Tandberg TD20a and a Revox B77 MK2, both half track 15ips models.
I've fitted a Philips projector into the ceiling and have a 100" powered screen, great for films and Youtube videos. I feed that with an Apple tv, with an HDMI splitter box to give me an optical out to the Gustard. A NUC runs Roon to feed the Lumin.
Amplification is a Graaf 13.5B MK2 pre feeding Neurochrome 686 monoblocks, powering a pair of IPL Acoustics S5TL.
The previous owner had built the room in the attic. It's a decent size being 12 feet to the apex of the roof, though he built the room up to the horizontals of the A frames, so the ceiling is only 2 metres- good job I'm a shortarse lol. It's not particularly well built, it's just a wooden frame with plasterboard screwed to the frame- I can flex the walls quite easily. I was a bit concerned that the low ceiling and flexy walls would be a problem sonically, but the reverse seems to be the case- must work well absorbing bass frequencies. It's the best I've had the system sounding. Another good thing is a couple of doors giving access to the rest of the attic around the room, lots of storage space and makes it easy to fit and wire sockets etc, very handy. Bit of work to do yet, but it's getting there.
