'DAC: Multiple-stage filtering and smoothing power supplies. Valve rectified and valve regulated HT supply, HT also choke and capacitor filtered. Three separate mains transformers. Three low-noise power regulator boards for the digital supplies. All NOS valves, except output valve which is a lightly-used, balanced sections gold-pin E88CC. Inputs individually transformer isolated. One S/PDIF. The other optical, with a separate, isolated power supply for the internal Toslink converter. Output coupling capacitors Duelund CAST. Signal path resistors Audio Note Niobium and Audio Note tantalum. IV conversion and coupling resisotrs, Audio Note silver-tantalum. Digital board capacitors, Nichicon low ESR. Power circuit resistors (output section) Audio Note tantalum and Kiwame. Power wiring solid and stranded copper. Output signal wiring Neotech 'single crystal' UP-OCC copper. Digital input wiring, silver-plated copper. Chassis/signal ground lifted electrically, safety-referenced to case earth for low noise.
I've probably forgotten some bits. The preamp, DAC digital board, DAC HT power supply board and digital input/Toslink board were all built up here from bare PCBs using very high quality components. All the digital power coupling diodes are fast-recovery types, etc. I keep a vast stock of high-end components for my own stuff, so I can pick and choose what works well. Yours are both very high spec units and should hopefully give you some pleasure!'
