Well, last weekend, the North West Audio Show was held at the Cranage Estate near Holmes Chapel in Cheshire.

The Show was certainly well attended on the Saturday morning by visitors of all ages, including couples and families. There were over 80 exhibitors showcasing over 200 brands.

There were many high lights and also sadly, a few exhibitors whose demos were sadly lacking on the enjoyment front !

Some notable highs:

Focal Scala Utopias were stunning both visually and musicaly

As a Martin Logan owner I am used to the 3D soundstage and presence that their panel models produce but these "box" speakers were superb !

The IOTA Audio room was a real treat, some great turntables, and these unusually small speakers with a big sound !

In the Symphoy Distribution room was the new SME Model 8 turntable and Esoteric amps and Kerr Acoustics speakers.

Also much, much, more, including numerous record stalls, accessories, headgear and of course, food and drink too, so why not put next years event in your diary now as tickets are free as is on site parking !

SAVE THE DATE FOR 2026: 27th and 28th of June at Cranage De Vere Estate, Holmes Chapel, Cheshire. See you there!*

I might go both days next year, just too much to fit in one day. I'm already saving up for those wonderful Focal Scalas, got six quid already :)

As you're a Martin Logan user, I'm wondering what you thought of the Fonica Flag M panel speakers in the GPoint Audio room. Extraordinary clarity, I could happily live with those.

I'm going to see if it's possible to stay overnight, if not at the hotel, then locally.

£6 already! At that rate just another 51 years of saving and you're there.

Of course the price of them might go up a bit in the meantime.
