** WANTED ** - Sugden SAU4 Tonearm
For some time, I have been amassing a collection of tonearms - old and not so old, well-rated and run-of-the-mill!
They are displayed in all their glory in a glass display cabinet.
I have managed to find and buy the Sugden SAU1 and SAU2 arms. By modern standards, they are pretty awful - but they represent an important era in tonearm development in the heyday of British hi-fi.
I need the last of their arms - the SAU4 - to complete the set. I have kept an eye open all over the place for several years now, without any luck. Anyone got one lurking in their attic that they are not sure what to do with, and that I could buy (for a good price)?

Regretfully I can't help you with your Sugden arm, but I must say that sounds like an interesting collection you have there. How many tonearms do you have on display?

(I have 10 tonearms, all of which are/have been used on 4 turntables. At one time I thought of displaying some of them as objets d'art, but my partner would neither understand nor approve!)

I think I only have 5 now, having sold 4 a while ago. If I had an SAU4 I'd donate it to your museum.

There was a bloke on Vinyl Engine a few of years ago who said he had a couple of SAU4s. Might be worth getting in touch.

Thank you Barry, Patrick & Shane: sorry for the late reply guys.
It's not a huge collection. Including the three I have in use (SME 3009 Series I, SME Series V and an AT1010 from Angus) there are 10.
I think that a well designed and made tonearm is a thing of beauty, as well as a precision instrument.
Thanks for the nod re Vinyl Engine - I'll investigate that.
