FOR SALE - Arke Audio version of Troels Gravesen Ekta mk2 in Birch ply.
House move this year means that these fantastic speakers are for sale. Going back to small stand mount to suit domestic arrangement. Although I wouldn’t call the Ekta’s a ‘large’ speaker.
Custom spec and built in beautiful Birch ply by Jason at Arke, giving an especially pleasing Scandi look, belying their end game outstanding performance as a floorstanding speaker.
If you asked Jason to make these today, the price would be £6-7,000
Dynamic and realistic due to the detailed soundstage with a fast, deep and controlled bass.
Configuration is a three way floor-stander with 7+4+1 inch drivers, giving huge advantage in coverage of those vital clues in the midrange.
The mid and bass drivers are Scanspeak illuminator drivers found in some extremely expensive loudspeakers, by manufacturers such as Wilson Watt and Gryphon Kodo (a mere £400,000 a pair!).
Sensitivity: 87 dB/2.8V/1 meter.
Impedance: 4 Ohms.
Points of crossover: 800 and 3200 Hz.
Cabinet dimensions: 22 x 34 x 100 cm (WxDxH) (without base support)
Power requirement: 20+ wpc.
Power handling: 150 watts,
Extras included in the build were SAEC SP-650 PC-CCC wiring, CMC solid copper binding posts, Audyn MKP plus caps on Mid, Alumen Z caps on tweeter, tweeter attenuation options included, as are outriggers options including spikes.
