I’m returning here to inform those interested in Dedicated Mains supply for Hi-Fi of a new development which I abandoned in 2003 because of ridiculous costs; Silver Buss Bars for C.U.. This information is FREE, like all the other information.

Hello Roy,

You new post looks interesting, but if it was me, I would relocate the MCB that covers your audio spur so that it is closest to the ON/OFF breaker.

For my system I had a dedicated CU installed, with the tails joining those of the existing CU via 'Henley block', and thence to the meter.

Good point.
Agreed about moving the dedicated Radial or ring-main wiring closer to the Main On'/Off switch Live connection, that would be an improvement. Then again do not forget the Neutral of that dedicated supply should also be moved closer to the main Neutral feed terminal for full benefit. A bunch of 3 silver wires for Neutral connected directly here may still be useful given the length of the Neutral wire feed.? If the domestic C.U. is full of wiring, moving these wires about can be a daunting task for some folk, especially if the existing wiring is short anyway and would not reach the new position, maybe the 1.5 silver wire option is an easier option IMO, and costing less than £25?

In 1976 I had a 6mm T&E dedicated Radial (spur). Currently my dedicated Memera C.U with pure silver Buss Bars, has 8 x 32A RCBOs, (plus 1x32A mcb for earth loop impedence testing), all feeding 10mm T&E to the 8 x 60A Oval Junction boxes where my 6mm woven Black Beasts are hard wired feeding into the IEC plugs where all 3 wires are silver soldered. The Mains Service fuse is 100A - big difference over 60A.
