In perfect working order

I have really enjoyed my time with these , I’ve used all sorts of different amps from my 200wpc Stasis to my Audio note P zero monoblocks at 8watts and they sound wonderful.

Selling to appease my amazing wife.

All original drivers in their original condition .

Recapped using the correct capacitor kit from Falcon Acoustics

Cabinets are not in great shape hence the bargain price for mk2’s .

grills are included

These are absolutely fantastic speakers

obviously they’re for collection only , I’m in Milton Keynes

Hi Andy

I beleive the sensitivity of these speakers is around 81dB/1 watt/ 1 metre, rather than 91 - don't know if it's a typo in your post?

Nevertheless a superb speaker which will outperform many modern speakers at 10 times your asking price - GLWS.

I very much doubt that they’re 81db mate , I’ve been using them with the audio note p zero monoblocks at 8watts and they drive them very easily, as does the Rata . The mk1’s are 96db according to the imf website.

Yes but that's for 40 watts, standard measure of sensitivity is for 1 watt.

96 dB for 40 watts
93 dB for 20
90dB for 10
87dB for 5
84dB for 2.5
81dB for 1.25

You have 2 speakers so that adds 3dB and 84dB at one meter is loud. With 8 watts you get 93dB which is very loud.

Aha , so why are they so much easier to drive than other speakers I have here ?
Low wattage perhaps?

Use to own a pair of these, if I had the space I'd more than likely buy them.

Impedance is pretty flat right across the frequency range

They don't demand much current from the amplifier. Any amp will have an easy job and valve amps should do well with them too as you won't get much if any deviation in frequency response.

Always fancied a pair of some of the bigger IMF's. I do have a problem in that I have Tannoys, ESL 57's. and ATC 50's sitting in my room, no bloody space!

What's a more typical price for the Mk2s in good shape?

This is a for sale thread. What is the point of your post?

I'd suggest these speakers, if still made today and sold through dealer-distributor network, would be around £15K retail.

Lots more if made in UK as these are.

It came across as a hijack - it would have been better to have contacted Andy by PM.

It wasn't for me, just a general question about the description. Maybe better to tidy up the thread.

I can, but more posts gets more views. It's up to Andy.
