Am I going Through a Phase?

Over the years I have played with changing the phase of the signal going to the speakers with varying results. This is combined with changing the phase of the subwoofer/s (one or both)

My OB's can be wired with the High/Mid and Bass as one or the High/Mids in phase or out of phase and the bass the same. Sometimes I think I am driving myself mad as what sounds great on one track/album and not so good on another (presumably due to how it was engineered)

In the main I have had a lot of fun and it gives me a work out jumping up and down to make the changes.

Seriously though, it drives me mad. I hate having stuff to tinker with as the temptation to tinker with it with every recording is too much. Okay, it doesn't stop me. I don't think the vet can help.

Difficult question to answer. Ideally the centre of mass of each drive unit, i.e. the notional point of the sound source, ought to lie in the same plane.

I can well understand that your preference will change depending on the type of music being played.

My advice would be to have all the drive units in phase with one another, and then leave well alone.
