New Quad 33 + 303 amps on the way

The all new Quad 33 pre and 303 power-amps are on their way. I ordered mine months ago and can hardly wait.

Styled very similar to the 1967 originals and at £1199 per unit, they are stirring up a lot of interest.

Quad have confirmed that the 33 + 303 have been shipped and on the sea. Predicted to be here mid November.

Predicted? Mid November? Are they coming in a kayak? You'd think in this day and age they could get a shift on. I'm sure they'll be worth the wait though.

Most of IAG's products come by sea so there is always a few days leeway.

On paper they look great and I admire the cosmetics. Would like to see one in the flesh, so to speak, to see how the orange back lighting looks.

I like the use of balanced line connections, and the ability to bridge the 303 outputs.

It's just a shame they're now made in China.

They are for demo, though as it is my business, everything is for 'personal use'.

I'm often asked "what is your system ?" well, it's anything I care to plug in because I don't stock anything I don't believe in or like. I'm particularly interested in these because I bought a 33/303 back in 1967 and enjoyed therefor quite a few years. These bring back happy memories.

I set my shelving to accommodate the height of the 303. It would be a fairly tight fit but the buggers calculated the measurement without taking into account the feet, so it doesn't fit in by about 3mm. Back to the drawing board.

Well, I've been using the new 33/303 for a while now and they are really growing on me. Smooth, dynamic, solid and natural, they never cease to put a smile on my face.
The second 303 power-amp should arrive early next week and I can then hear how bi-amping goes.
