Tonearm recommendations

I am considering adding a second tonearm to my NA Hyperspace, currently i have a 12' Ace Anna arm with Micro Benz Glider that sounds great to my ears but maybe a bit laid back for my tastes. So i would like to try a tonearm that has a bit more pace and liveliness (if that is a thing) though TBH the choice seems to me to be a bit overwhelming! I am looking at a tonearm under £2000 and secondhand is OK, any recommendations would be gratefully received

You could save quite a bit of money and look for a Mission 774. Great arms, and with the trough damping are quite versatile. Designed by John Bicht.
Can be had for under £350, but don't let the low price put you off, these are really very good arms imo and will give you what you're looking for. I replaced a Technoarm with one of these, made the TA sound grey and lifeless by comparison.

I'm a very satisfied user of the Original Mission 774, so would second that recommendation.

If you do go for a Mission 774 arm, choose one of the later editions with the larger arm base, and where Mission cured the sagging counterweight.

Another vote for the 774. I use mine with a Denon 103 fitted with an alloy body which gives it a little extra mass where it matters. In theory it shouldn’t work. In practice it does, brilliantly.

Spend a bit of the remainder of your budget on an overhaul with Johnny at AO.

Johnnys forgotten more about tonearm design than most folk hold dear.
And he’s a good down to earth Spud too, always does right by people.
Technically… Hes an old school Artisan.

I’d go for a 12” arm they work well on NA decks , I agree with the votes for Johnny done nice work for me in the past, so try one of his 12” versions or the 312 works well too

I wonder about a uni pivot arm, but not too many 12" of those. I have a soft spot for the Audiocraft AC-4000, which might be worth investigating?

Otherwise, yep, I rate the 312s. I have one on my big Thorens 'table and it's a phenomenal arm for what it does. Does benefit from 'musical' rather than analytical cartridges though - I'm using mine with an EMT.

You could always try the Terminator linear tracker.
It would have to be used as the Russian supplier has ceased due to Ukraine situation. Normally 1050 euro new.
