Cayin sc 845a Reference UK Model
For sale is my lovely Cayin C845a amplifier. One year old bought new from Audio Emotion at list price £5,990. The amp runs 2 x PSvane Tii 845 valves (which are an upgrade), 2 x 300bs, and 2 x WE replica 6SN7s. Full remote controlling inputs, feedback and volume. Unlike the equivalent Line Magnetic amps these run without any transformer hum and at -90db overall noise there is effective silence on the end of my 90db speakers. The amp is built like a battleship. Point to point wired with high quality components such as Nichicon capacitors, Alps Blue motorized pot etc. The amp can be used as a power amp if you prefer to use your won preamplifier or direct output from a DAC. The amp is just over a year old and has hardly been used so is in immaculate condition. It also has a fully protective valve cage so can be used around kids /pets etc.

The new, revised version of the single-ended class A integrated amplifier CS-845A bears the addition "Reference" and is intended to define the benchmark in this amplifier class.
The elaborately designed high-end amplifier, freely wired with thick, silver-plated signal cables, now has a high-quality headphone output.
The Cayin CS-845A Reference comes with the claim to redefine the standard in the tube world.
The elaborately over-engineered and designed CS-845A Reference uses heavy gauge silver-plated signal cables, pushes the limits of playback quality for tube amps even further in the direction of high-end.
The CS-845A Reference has been significantly improved in many respects compared to existing concepts.
Its EI output transformers have an extreme bandwidth in order to extend the transmission range even further.
The power supply now draws its supply voltage from a large-sized toroidal transformer - a design that stands for low stray fields.
But the heart of the CS-845A Reference are its selected tubes: The voltage amplification is handled by the classic WE6SN7. The outstanding 300B works as the driver tube for the 845 tube, which is also anchored in the type designation. This combination guarantees homogeneous music reproduction in conjunction with the highest resolution.
The negative feedback factor can be freely selected between 0 dB NFB (negative feedback) and -3 dB NFB for individual sound tuning according to personal taste.
The CS-845A Reference thus more or less adapts the damping factor to the respective loudspeakers in order to enable perfect control.
Another example of the extensive detailed work is the problem-free hum adjustment of the 300B using easily accessible potentiometers on the top cover - easy and convenient.
The same applies to the bias setting with feedback from the integrated measuring instrument.
Best of all: All functions, including adjusting the negative feedback factor, can be controlled via the remote control.
For the volume control, Cayin uses a particularly high-quality encapsulated Alps potentiometer with a motor drive. A pre-amplifier input allows the CS-845A Reference to be used purely as a power amp. After all, it pumps 26 watts per channel to the gold-plated speaker terminals.
The CS-845A Reference has a tube-friendly soft-start switch-on delay for the high-voltage supply so that you can enjoy this extraordinarily powerful and well-engineered integrated amplifier for a long time.
