Picked up a great example of one of these the other day, in really good condition, with plenty life left on the heads-

There's usually a good few up for sale, but what drew me to this one in particular is that it's had all the electrolytics and tantalum caps replaced- you can see the old ones in the above photo. That's a must with these nowadays- they're all at least 30 years old now. Was owned by a musician who used it in his home studio, and was apparently his pride and joy, which I can believe given it's condition.

I'm heading down to Stafford on Monday for work, so taking the chance to drop this and my Tandberg TD20a in at Reel Resilience in Derby- from what I could find, they are one of the top places in the UK for reel machines- to have them biased for LPR90 tape.

Couple of more pics-

I still have two, though one needs a complete service/repair, but at one time I had four R2R machines.

I used to have a Revox G36 (aka 736), the forerunner to the A77 and your B77, but didn't get on with it, so it wasn't kept for long.

What will/do you use yours for? I only used mine to record stuff off the radio.

Yes still remember that lovely Nagra of yours Barry, beautiful machine. I usually make mix tapes, often of live and acoustic stuff on Youtube, some of which is very good sounding. Also record vinyl and from Quobuz. I've bought a master tape copy from Sepea Audio to try-

Not cheap but hoping for good things. Since I'm getting two machines calibrated, I'll probably make a copy of it to save wear, given the price!
