My name is Adam and I have been into Hi-Fi since buying a 1st generation CD Player with my student grant cheque back in the early 80s.

I am not so keen to spend my money now that I earn it though! My system has been assembled from secondhand bargains:-

Pioneer PD705 Stable Platter CD Player as Transport
CA Dacmagic 2 MKII
MF x10d Tube Buffer
Creek 4330 Integrated Amp
AVI Neutron IV speakers
Little Dot III Headphone Amp
Sennheiser HD650 headphones (won in online competition).

...the system stands on granite chopping boards and squash balls in caster cups.

My music taste is eclectic : Krautrock, Factory bands (Joy Division, Durutti Column etc), Prog Rock, British Folk Rock, Classic Jazz, and Avant Garde stuff.

Granite chopping boards eh :scratch: I like the idea but i think it'd be more expensive than my paving slabs. I might have to look into it though, just out of interest where did you purchase them from if you don't mind me asking?

I am based in Hertford in Hertfordshire.

The Granite chopping boards are "Tesco Finest" Granite Chopping boards - available from bigger stores.

I have got 2 big chopping boards under the Pioneer transport and DAC (think these were about £9 each). I also use the smaller cheese board versions under my headphone amp and x10d. The big chopping boards stand on 4 Dunlop yellow dot squash balls each (which reside in small sofa caster cups - to stop them sliding about).
