Enjoy your retirement Steve, but don't be thinking life will get easier or simpler now, it never does

The complexity might not change but on the plus side you don't have to drag your ass out of bed at 0630 on a pitch black, freezing cold January morning any more.

Well I still have that to do, but maybe Steve's bladder's in better shape than mine :)

I haven't yet heard from Ken. He's usually the first one up for NEBO. I hope he's ok?

The trouble with retirement is that you never get a day off. But on the other hand you can do what you want, when you want. :)

I'll be along for it.

I'll do my best (not that that's been much use in the past). I'm currently out of work but I'm not sure where I'll be by next year.

Sorry to hear that Lawrence. I hear George Clooney is looking for a new stunt double since the AI backlash in Hollywood.

Thought you were applying for that?

No, you're thinking of George Kennedy. I would have been perfect for that job :( RIP George.

Sorry to hear that Lawrence. I hear George Clooney is looking for a new stunt double since the AI backlash in Hollywood. Thanks for the rec Steve, but unfortunately I already applied unsuccessfully for that role. I think he was worried I was more handsome and would put him to shame.

I know just what you mean, good looks can be a curse. Same thing happened to me when I auditioned for lead role in the upcoming Pogues biopic :(

They asked me to double for Leonardo DiCaprio - a million dollars a picture - but I had to knock them back.

It would have meant relocating to L.A, and where I am now is handy for the supermarket and the bus stop.

I bet they don't even have a Spar in Beverly Hills.

Avalon. My most played Roxy album, and also their last and most successful studio album. Released more than 42 years ago

I've been and they don't. No bookies and no chippy either. Not really sure how anyone manages to live there.

That's just shocking. I suppose you'd have to stock up at Farmfoods and have a barbecue at home.

:D I watched all three Beverly Hills Cop last month. Great stuff. Then last weekend I watched another sequel that has just come out (Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F). That's two hours I won't get back :( It was actually depressing to watch, the years have not been kind, especially for Billy Rosewood.

While it was ridiculous I loved the surprise appearance of an early "James Carrey" as the credits put it, and Liam Neeson in a comical film making scene to Guns n Roses Welcome to the Jungle, and a cameo by Slash firing a harpoon later on.

I'm not sure if it was better than Bullet to Beijing, the late Harry Palmer film, or Death Wish V, there's quite a bit of competition for best ridiculously poor and so somehow good (in a post ironic sense) late sequels.

'Billion Dollar Brain', the third Harry Palmer film, was bad enough. (When you say the "late" Harry Palmer film, does that mean he gets killed? Not that I really care, save it does mean there won't be a fifth film.)

This thread is funnier than one of my favourite Pete and Dud sketches.

I recall Billion Dollar Brain being bad was it some evil villain trying to run an underworld empire with a super computer (complete with dot matrix card printouts)?
