Please help this analogue fool embrace digitalia.

I have a Stan Dac on it's way and I want to use the coax (only) for time being. Do I need to buy a dedicated spdif coax cable, or can I use a single rca phono interconnect?

Thanks

Don't use a standard phono interconnect ;)

Get yourself a decent 75ohm digital interconnect. This is kind of problematic as phono plugs have no defined impedance so tend to f*ck it up

Cable impedance is important though, if you want to go cheap but reasonable get yourself a metre or so of good quality screened satelite coax & add your own plugs ;)

Pity you have no BNC 75ohm connectors on the device

Best to use a SPDIF 75ohm co-ax cable or if you have one to hand a yellow video cable phono to phono.

I would get hold of a QED SR75 or a Mark Grant digital cable. Stan may even sell digital cables too.

Get one of Stan's TRC-222-1M.
