£5 Punt turns out they are Lowther Acoustics saw the celestion drivers thought why not I think one driver needs to be realigned as coil rub think they were stored in a shed or something rotated 180 deg if that works if not off to my tech are they a prototype quite heavy

Not aware of any Lowther speakers that use Celestion drivers rather than Lowther.

We suspect that this may be a self-build cabinet. Lowther supply plans for enthusiasts to build their own. It appears that someone may have decided to use Celestion Drive Units rather than Lowthers. The larger unit is certainly a similar shape to Lowthers pre 1970 and they briefly experimented with a rubber surround.

How big are they?

Did someone take an Acousta cab and just fit a front baffle and those drivers onto it?

Acousta cabs are about the size of a larder fridge. I've still got one which someone has cut out to take a 12'' bass driver to make a passive sub.

A friend of mine had a pair of genuine Lowther Acousta horn-loaded speakers, fitted with the Lowther PM6A drive unit. The weren't small, but there wouldn't be much width into which to fit a 12" drive unit.

I bought three cabs, one with the cut-out and two intact ones. Three drivers - 2 x PM6A and 1XPM7A. Thirty quid the lot.

I sold the drivers to Classique Sounds in Leicester and used the cash to buy and fit brand new Audax 8'' full range units and proper speaker cable. A massive upgrade.

Sold them on to a DJ who used them as his P.A system for years.
The Audax units were 103dB for one watt and would take 50 watts continuous. In those cabs they would go to monumental levels totally effortlessly. Stick them in the corners and you'd get decent depth of bass too.

Still got the cut out cab and I can assure you it fits a 12 with room to spare :)

Fair enough - I don't remember them being quite so wide.

They were good sounding speakers and ably demonstrated horn low frequency cutoff. Not a gentle roll-off, but a sharp cutoff around 40Hz.

The cabinet is Lowther the badges & grill cloth also are the mid bass unit maybe Lowther to as briefly entered into a drive with rubber surrounds they are sounding very good for a home made job if they are hearing from Lowther they advised customers to build their own heard from the seller they were her dads he was a bank manager in south London so may have been gifted them

I had Lowther Acoustas for a while back in 1993. Can't say I was that keen. Not a rocker's loudspeaker.

Got them off a bloke who was moving house next day. £30. Ended up selling the drivers for a handsome profit. One of the few times I didn't lose money on kit.

I didn't know Lowther made any speakers that didn't use a folded horn; apart from an enclosure called the Lowther Ideal Baffle, but that was much smaller in size than the speakers shown.
