Yes it was the pub car park with lots of mikey taking and arguments with general tough and tumble.

A general observation would be that most Hi Fi forums I visit regularly do tend to lean to the left, PFM, Wig Wam, Hi Fi Subjectivist, Maverick. I tend to try and avoid the political areas of the forums.

Don't remember Hi Fi Subjectivist being particularly left wing in its views. But it was run by someone who had some distinctly odd, and sometimes contradictory, ideas.

Are you sure you're not thinking of PFM?!No the Wam just a had a woke sub forum (Tory bashing thread etc) whereas Pfm is pretty much woke everywhere.

What is woke supposed to really mean? I'd read a while back it was something that meant , to care for others feelings? Now it seems in the media at least,bunch of weird nobs with pink hair that dont like petrol or straight white people

I think the origin is late 1960s America. Describing black people who had become aware of their history and why they were getting treated as second class.

Then it translated into being a description for being aware of the need for 'social justice' in general.

The whole social justice thing went over the top in a variety of ways that normal people found ridiculous, and so now 'woke' has gained a pejorative meaning - describing any situation/ person/ organization that panders to, promotes or supports obvious nonsense.

No, I'm afraid it looks as though it has been back down for a while now.

It is a great loss.

All that information and discussion about all things hifi! I often used to do searches on that site to find opinions on all sorts of things to do with our hobby/obsession.

It seems a great pity that the archives cannot be salvaged and made accessible to all hifi fans. Does anyone know if this has been looked into?

It has been discussed by the members and mods but the owners have not been in communication so it is probably a non starter sadly.

If you're thinking of the one I'm thinking of, they don't like the Guardian as it supports Labour, and some of them genuinely believe that Keir Starmer is a fascist, which gives you a clue where they are on the political spectrum.
