I have a couple of Olsen strips, very similar to yours. Disabling the neon indicator in the switch, or even by-passing the switch itself, can bestow audible benefits on the items plugged into it.

These Olsons are extremely good quality. I have a couple of them and, to be honest, I've seen much worse quality that are so called 'audiophile' over the years.

I've also had a couple and they are certainly built to last. The bulb being off is a bonus as it can add noise to the output voltage.
