I live in London, and have had this same system for many years:
nytech cta/cxa252 + arc101ap speakers (bought 1982) + lp12/ittok lvii/k18 (bought a few years later to replace a planar3/rega arm/cart), and more recently (1990s) a rotel rcd-965bx

I didnt set out to own a classic system - it just turned out that way. and it still sounds great.

music tastes are classical , some rock, some jazz - almost anything, really.

edit: i've posted a separate thread here about possible upgrades: http://theartofsound.net/forum/showthread.php?t=7760

Hi Paul
Nice one with the ARC 101's very underrated speaker, there's a pic of my old ones on here somewhere.

Welcome from me as well :)

Where did you buy your ARC/Nytech system from?

Andre:

yes re arc101's - I have them on large heavy (sand-filled) spiked target HJ stands.
They even sound good when driven passive by an old nad3020 that I used while the nytechs were not-yet-unpacked after moving.

DSJR:

From Studio 99 in N London - sadly no longer around. I bought the original system from them, and a few years later went back to them for the Linn TT.

Nice people, and willingly repaired the nytech after an amp blew up, taking one of the arc hf drivers with it, at no charge (just days within (3yr?) warrantee)

I know Studio 99 (rather too well as it happens and over a seventeen year period ;)). A shame the way they went at the end, but man cannot live by Naim alone, especially when your premises was sort of split into two businesses after 1993........... :mental:
