For sale (reluctantly) are my Yamaha NS1000M based speakers, external XO and stands, I need the space.

Price £1200

Collection only (Carlisle) or I can take them to the NEBO meeting in Hartlepool on 24th February.
These are no ordinary NS1000M, they are far superior and better than NS2000.
Only the highest quality components and materials have been used.

I will give a summary of what they consist of.
New cabinets 55L sealed cabinets, to suit replacement Scanspeak bass drivers, these take the stock f3 of 52 Hz down to 33Hz and produce better quality bass.
They are semi active, the Mid/Twt has a passive XO that is an upgraded Troels Grevesen kit.
The Bass driver uses an external, Marchand Electronics, analogue active crossover, this has also been upgraded, with 1% PP caps and Takman resistors better op amps etc.
Because of this split crossover set up, they have to be Bi amped, I use a PrimaLuna EL34 tube amp for Mids/Twts and Nord Class D for Bass, these are not included in the sale.
I have spent about three times the asking price in perfecting the design and they look/work superb. I can demo them at pick up in Carlisle if needed.
These are a bargain and very much priced to sell.

Thanks Tankertop, the crossovers went through dozens of iterations and it took me 5 years to get everything just right.
They still sound like NS1000m, with great imaging, but the response is now flatter, thanks to Troels Grevesens upgrade XO, top end is smoother and they have real depth to the bass. Those Scanspeak 12" bass drivers seem to slip under the Radar of most builders, they have enormous power handling and XMAX, but are also very tuneful, accurate and better than the original Yamaha drivers in every aspect. Their response is flatter and covers a wider bandwidth, what's not to like.

These speakers are fantastic.

I heard them at NEBO a couple of years ago, and was completely blown away. The evenhanded and effortless power of these beauties really is something else, and I reckon you would have to pay several times the asking price to get anywhere near, and maybe not even then. I would happily swap my £4k speakers for these, unfortunately my missus would have something to say about that. Wish I had my own listening room...

I wasn't going to take them to NEBO, only offered to hand over to any buyer there, if it made things easier.
But, if I leave my ATC's/Subs and build a set up around the Yammies, I could do that.
The more I think about it, makes total sense.

So yes I will be taking these speakers to NEBO 14.
