I've been undertaking a refurb of these with a view to selling.

Obviously the drivers need a re foam. Wilmslow audio have quoted me just short of £300 for this. ( though they haven't seen the cleaned up drivers ).

The replacement surrounds and glue seem to be available on the net for less than £100.

The cabinets were originally black ash finish, whoever did the cabinet work certainly took pride in their job, I've wondered what they thought as they went off to the spray shop.
I've sanded them back and applied a few coats of satin varnish.
Overall they're in good condition. Certainly no damage of note. The grilles are intact too, as are the plinths.

They're heavy and big (1.2m tall), but look better then they did a few weeks ago.

I'm asking £850 for these, collected from Chesterfield.

Thanks, Martin.

I had John Michell's Response Threes (with which he developed the Orbe) and they were a breath of fresh air after Briks. Only superseded by my 3As and Fours.

Thanks Mike.
I'm hoping someone will put these to good use, they certainly have a lovely top end.

What's the going price for these when working Martin, might help the sale to show what a bargain they are.

Thanks Lawrence, they're pretty rare now so not really an applicable "going
rate" I suppose.

I would definitely say over £1k.
There's a pair listed on Hifi Shark at over $2,000, looks like pair sold in Germany at about 1,200Euro.
Very little on UK eBay.

As a DIY purchase these could be up an running for less than £900 plus time.

Professionally re foamed, add about £200 more.

They're cracking speakers, but I've since built some DIY sets. We're planning a house move, I could use the funds and don't want hifi equipment going into storage!
