View Full Version : US equipment prices in Europe
Just noticed by looking at some Euro prices of Boulder and Hovland that US equipment seems now far more expensive on the continent due to the strong Euro and the importers not changing their prices - so it's not just a British problem !

With the extremely strong euro, especially against the $US, imports to the continent should be MUCH cheaper, not dearer.
However, as in all things, the laws of supply and demand will prevail; demand is surely not on the increase in these economically challenging times.
Example :
Watt/Puppy 8 :
Germany : Euro 34,000 ( ca £ 27,000 )
Absolute Sounds UK : £ 23,000
US price : $ 28,000
Makes AS look like a charity shop :)

Bel Canto CD2 is $3000 in US and £2400 in UK.

Yes, but lower demand should drive prices down as well. It sounds like European importers are taking the economic advantage in increased margins and not passing them along to consumers.

Yes, of course if you have the money for a pair of Watt Puppies, the last thousand pounds or so isn't really much. Ah...to be in such a league!
