I'm not linked to these guys but I did see this. https://www.fidelityaudio.co.uk/technics-sl-1210-low-jitter-clock-4673-p.asp
years and years ago I did fetch up the possibility of swapping out the crystal reference in the 1210 and a few people mentioned the possibility, well here it is! It's a pity we couldn't drag Marco onto the net. I'm sure he'd like to talk about this one! ;)
He'd already be having one fitted!

Yes I know! I'm actually considering this but I have no idea if this would work with the 1210 I own. I need to speak to people who have far bigger IQ's than I.
The one customer review is from someone with a Mk.II
But there are two clocks available for a 1210?
Is this the same clock? https://www.fidelityaudio.co.uk/technics-sl1210-clock-upgrade-4181-p.asp

The TT pictured is not a Mk2, so the circuitry might not be the same
But the description says it is for a MK1 to Mk5?

Always best to call and check.

The original Technics SL1200 (which by default became the Mk1 when the Mk2 was introduced) does not use a quartz-locked control system, so an afternarket clock is meaningless in the context of a Mk1
The two clocks listed are the same. The more expensive one is fitted, but the price is being reduced to £179.
The £119 is the DIY price.
I have just ordered one. ;)

Anything turned up yet?
Yes. I have in with me here in Bristol.
I will fit it when I get back.

I look forward to reading about the outcome
I really don’t think it is going to make a massive difference, but I believe that these were fitted to the Monarch.

Interesting to hear your thoughts on this.
The upgraded clock is easy to fit. You have to remove a capacitor and the old clock.
You put a wire link across the capacitor, and the new clock feeds the output position of the old clock.
The +ve and ground feeds are taken from different positions on the PCB.
Total time spent fitting it, taking it easy, and double checking everything - less than 30 minutes.
It is easy to do, if you can solder.
How does it sound? Superb, as always.
I didn’t listen to it just before fitting the upgraded clock.
From memory, I would say that it seems to boogie a bit better, and the definition/detail seems a touch better.
I don’t have a standard deck to compare, and I am not removing it to see if I am correct.
Money well spent? I’ll let you decide.
Looks a nifty upgrade for not too much dosh?
That is why I went for it.
I think the Techie sounds better now, but I cannot be 100% sure.
I went for it, as it was in the Monarch, which a lot of people in the HiFi press raved about (apparently) with it often being a “reference” deck.

What's the Monarch?

AH yes I have seen them - I like the GL75 Enigma TT they built.
The SL1200 seems more “punchy” with Muse will of the people now.
The timing is spot on, not that there was much wrong with it before. I am a happy bunny.
I may even fit my RigB! 540ML later. That may have to wait, as my SAE1000LT seems to be doing a great job.

Nice to get an uplift.
