FS - lentek integrated - lovely condition but faulty

Lovely condition.

It was working perectly them developed 2 faults at pretty much the same time.

1) For 90 seconds after power on, the volume control does nothing.
There is no sound on one channel.
Max volume on other channel.
After the 90 seconds all is fine.
2) a medium thump from one channel on power off.

So, i'm offering this at

collected from eton wick/windsor.
Or possibly Grantham.

I'm actually trying to get this to a tech to repair.
If i manage to get it there before it sells, i'll have it recapped, fixed and kep it.
I'm just not too mobile as i don't drive.

Change of tack.
I'm going to look for some quad II monos for my kef 101.
So back up for sale.

Lovely condition but with the issues as mentioned above.

Would Quad monos work well with the 101? I imagine they are similar to the LS3/5a which most owners say need watts. Perhaps they have a simpler crossover and are less demanding.

I think they measure flatter than the ls5/3a.
And a simpler crossover i think.

Hey it's an excuse to try the quad II monos!

I heard the falcons gold ls3/5a today.
Not the best demo in the shop as no proper listening room.
But i actually prefer the kef 101.
Saves me 2 grand.

Nothing wrong with wanting to try the Quads! I've never owned a pair but I've got some DIY variants built by an Ex BBC engineer.

I thought the quad ii monos might have been a classic combination with ls3/5a .
Or have i got that wrong?

Quite a good discussion on the Wam a few years ago, hope nobody minds me posting a link.

A few people say the Quad IIs are a good match but I think the best option is the 405. The HH amps used by the BBC would be a good alternative.

This one is worth fixing due to its lovely condition.

Amp labs quad 303, etc etc
