Why should you change it? As long as the velvet is clean and not impregnated with dirt or grit, the pad should last for years.

I use either a Decca carbon fibre record brush, or the Cecil Watts Parastatic; and have done so for the last 30 years or so.

Cecil Watts Parastatic here and also Disc Preener. To my mind, the best record cleaners ever.
