My father died earlier in the year. He was a great opera fan and had a large collection of 78s as he was lover of some of the singers from that period.

It appears that many of the 78s have little value, and therefore I am posting to see if there is anyone who would be interested in giving them a good home.

The records are in Stroud, Gloucestershire.

If I had the ability to play them, I would gladly give them a good home as I'm just down the road from Stroud. But, I can't play 78s so I can't claim to be a good home for your father's records.

I'm sure there are charities who would be interested in them.
But they would need to know the type of music on the 78s.

How many 78s are there in your late father's collection?

Do you have any kind of list? It's not an absolute given that 78s have no value - but it could depend which performers are on them, and a whole bunch of other factors.

Hi all. My sister has organised a chap to purchase some of them. I expect he'll cherry pick the valuable ones. It looks like we'll be left with what's left. I expect there will be a fair few that will be free to a good home if anyone is interested.
