View Full Version : Have I lost the plot?
Giving serious thought to selling my graff 13.5, Neurochrome 686, dac and touch SB with KT EQ
and replacing ir with a Lyngdorf TDAI1120 - have I gone mad or is the Bix reduction and implications worth while
I think if your room is giving you issues in the low frequencies it might be worth it.
Plus I'm on the lookout for a 686 :)
Looks like a Swiss army knife type of product, very nice one box solution to all your hifi needs?

Have you tried a 686 in your own system at your house yet?

Yes I have. A couple of years back.

Very different from the Krell. Very transparent, neutral and great clarity and suits digital very well.
Sorry for post deviation Ian.
Just thinking everything would be a lot easier and cheaper with one box doing it it all. A klark teknik dn410 helps keep the bottom end flat.
Thinking sell
Graff £1500
686 £2500
Dn410 £400
Dac £300
SB Touch £100
Buy lyngdorf, money in bank and lot less boxes to worry about. Used to run nord nc500 and liked them. But it's a big change and I've made several changes in the past and regretted them
Your price for the 686 might be ambitious

Not really looked into the current prices of 686, I did see the one that is linked to above BUT I couldn't see the following
Guardian 86 x 2 = US $198
Intelligent soft start US $189
Plus shipping and import duties etc
The pre built version of the 686 is US2888.81 shipped to UK which equales to £2366 add on 23% for VAT and duties = £2910 plus the risk of damage in transit etc. Also looking at the images online the PSU doesnt look to be to the same standard as mine.
£2500 might be a tad on the high side but to be honest all the prices were a finger in the air guess

If yours is a factory made model imported from the US it should be worth a bit more than a Joe Henry model.
