View Full Version : Why can I hear the fm tuner when cd is selected?
I’ve had this on a couple of integrated amps in the past and I’ve just heard it again.
I turned the amp on this morning which had the source selector switch on CD and yet as I turned it up I could hear the music coming from the fm tuner .
What causes that ?

A bit of breakthrough somewhere in the pre-amp stage? Cable screening not too effective? Could try moving interconnects apart or try different ones.

Very strange.
I used to have a record player which would sometimes pick up snippets from nearby taxis. Maybe you'll just have to keep the tuner switched off when not in use. Not very helpful I know.

Crosstalk between the inputs. What’s the amplifier?
The easiest solution is to switch the tuner off!

I get this with my vintage Pioneer receiver, unfortunately being a receiver I can't physically turn off the tuner section.
It does my head in

I did read about removing the centre wire from the coaxial, I just changed the tuner and then the issue stopped.
