Decoupling a motor/bearing or both ?

I'm contemplating a new plinth build in bamboo and has decided that I'd like to decouple the motor from the plinth. I'm thinking about mounting motor and bearing on some threaded rod so that I can adjust height of both easily. I'm also thinking about decoupling the bearing as well. Would this give me any additional benefit, or is decoupling the motor on it's own better? I'm also toying around with the idea bracing the bearing to the base of the plinth. Decoupling from what? You want to decouple the motor from the bearing and you want to either decouple the bearing from external vibration or alternatively couple it to a vibrational “earth”, like a big lump of slate or a CLD plinth assembly, but you don’t want to decouple the bearing from the arm.

Thanks Shane. I was just going to decouple the motor. It is always very comforting gettings opinions and views from those with superior knowledge. :)

The arm is often decoupled from the bearing and platter.
Take a look at the high end TT's with separate and isolated Platter and arm islands, there is no connection what so ever. Sometimes the motor is on a separate island as well.
There are arguments for/against coupling, I can't say I've been convinced either way.
My Lenco GL75 based deck has sprung isolation between motor/plinth.
My bearing is coupled to both the top and bottom faces of the thick Bamboo Plinth.
My arm base is attached direct to the top of the Plinth, but has Nylon spacing washers, so the contact area is minimal, just through the fixing bolts and washer faces.
