Hi guys , I need to test the EMI drivers to make sure they’re fully working instead of just relying on a multi meter , do I need to use a capacitor inline or is there no need with these ?

No need for capacitor or the inductor shown, just test using the terminals directly. Touching a small low voltage battery across them will tell you a lot.

No need for capacitor or the inductor shown, just test using the terminals directly. Touching a small low voltage battery across them will tell you a lot.It would tell you the voice coils are intact but not whether they are rubbing or not. A frequency sweep from an amp is the best way, or a range of music.

I've found Gimme the night, Love over gold and some early music, one with a boy treble choir and the other with Emma Kirkby (soprano) to be good to test the bass, mids and highs for voice coil distortion.

They are just random tracks that have revealed any issues I've had in the past with second hand speakers.
