Perseid meteor shower

Tonight, if it remains clear, is the peak (and best) time to observe the Perseid meteor shower.

In theory you can observe the meteor shower anywhere in the UK during the hours of darkness, but if you can get out into the country away from any urban backlighting, then you will be rewarded with seeing up to 100 meteors per hour. The fact that the moon is crescent, helps reduce light pollution.

No chance, it's emptying down here in West Wales :(

way too much light pollution here it's lit up like Las Vegas for no apparent good reason.

If I go down the road a quarter mile or so to the posh area it's darker and if sky is clear you can see Mars and Venus clearly. But it's heavy overcast tonight.

Alas, light cloud cover scuppered any chance of me seeing the meteor shower. :(

Oh well, same time next year.
