I Love this CD Player

Few Years back bought an Oppo 203
and it was always going to be my "last" Disc spinner, particularly with the modding work I put into it, and it sounded fantastic into my Dac over i2s.

Heard about the Audiolab though, the fuss it was making and took a punt, particularly on the strength of Paul Rigby's review HERE:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JAfk5a5M5ds

The Audiolab sounded BETTER into my Dac than the 203 for playing CDs, even after I modded the Oppo.
My Oppo Modding thread HERE:
https://theartofsound.net/forum/showthread.php?56087-Hey-guess-what-I%92m-about-to-do-Major-Oppo-mods
Linear PSU, i2s output board, case damping, upgraded clock, the whole works.

Despite all that, the Audiolab sounded better.
Happy as a pig in Poo.
Still used the Oppo as a Roon Endpoint and digital hub for AppleTV, Netflix and the like.
Its a SACD player as well and can output DSD to my Dac over i2s, and sounds great.

For Redbook CD though, the Audiolab ruled.

Even more so after I did the 2nd round of Mods on the Audiolab?
Mod thread HERE:
https://theartofsound.net/forum/showthread.php?76409-Audiolab-6000CDT-Mods.

Did a similar round of Mods on the Oppo though...?
OH.
now the Oppo is better.
For Everything.

Guess it (finally) got to be my Final disc player, just took some extra work on my part.
The Audiolab is a fantastic CD Transport stock, you just need to read the Internet buzz about it?

Can be improved though, with case and component damping mods, RFI/EMI treatment and Deoxit treatment.
I've also fitted my Audiolab 6000CDT with an Synergystic Research Orange Fuse, RRP £155

I'm looking for £400 delivered (UK Only please)

SUBSTANTIAL improvement over stock 6000CDT Transport, great as that was.
Sometimes its attention to detail (and audiophile nuttery) that can make the biggest difference.

Lots of pics of the actual Unit on my Mod threads, but heres another.
Casework in great shape, zero dings scrapes or gouges, it's been well looked after like the rest of my kit.https://i.imgur.com/AL8jj1l.jpg

Better quality pic of the rear panel showing connections,
the light in the last one makes it look weird.

Grant,
Cant edit the post, any chance you could replace with this pic instead please?

Price Reduction £350 Delivered.

A reminder:

This sounds substantially better than the stock Audiolab transport.
The unit is fitted with a Synergistic Research orange fuse, itself costing £155

Want a CD transport that wont break the bank but will sound fantastic even with a much more expensive Dac?
This is the one.

I use a stock version and its good. However, i recently encountered the 9000CDT and thought it was a significant step up. Who ever bought this one got a bargain Gaz!

Cheers Steve.

sounds mighty indeed, just that the (further) modded Oppo pipped it.
No need for 2cd players, so one had to go.

The 9000CDT looks interesting indeed.
