Thanks to comments on Dave Cawley's site, I've been looking at the Funk Firm site with great interest.
Firstly, they look to be doing (or about to do) a universal mounting collar for the Rega tonearms, which may help in several ways (I wonder of the old R200 is included?).
The new tonearm (Rega derived) looks to be very interesting indeed and by top-end standards, £1100 isn't too excessive I suppose (the ittok would cost around that much I reckon if still made and if the market was still bouyant).
Even more interesting is the Techie tonearm transformation, which takes the otherwise good bearing block/arm height adjustment and replaces the arm-tube and wiring. As these arms are drop in replacements, they may just make an interesting step up from the still amazing-value Jelco arms.
Perhaps Funk could look at the straight-piped Jelco as another donor tonearm too?
