its true as well that small rain wets you more than big rain; ...up to a point of course. its due to big drops splash and much of the water doesnt get on to you as opposed to really small drops that come down a bit lighter and hit there mark

Wanted to do same thing Sunday but 8 million jobs to do. Example - She'd had some cowboy come and fit a new side door to the garage as the old one was rotten.

He'd fitted a door all right but it was too big for the frame and didn't close. No problem he'd come back and sort it. That was a fortnight ago.

Spent over an hour planeing the bastard down. It now fits like a glove but important time for doing nothing was irretrievably lost.

I have two landing cupboard doors that swelled due to moisture this autumn and wouldn't shut. Got the belt sander on them and sorted it, but they kept swelling and stuck again. I'll have to do them properly soon :rolleyes:.

On older western produced maps it's generally Rumania, as it also is in dictionaries and in other reference sources. The Romania spelling has become the norm only in the last forty years or so.

All I know is the roads a bit hairy in places, I wrote off one of my bikes up there 20 years ago.

Unusual to get an easterly wind, prevailing wind in UK is mostly west to east but we've had this bugger now for at least two weeks.

It only has to change to to southerly or westerly and the weather changes completely. Due to change next week but to northerly - you can't win.

Somewhat colder today - slight rain, some sun, and we might just hit 8C. Tonight might be really frosty, so brought some pots in to protect them. Didn't do that with some others not so long ago, and they cracked - not frost proof apparently. Bummer!

If it makes you feel any better the sunshine only lasted an hour. Now it's pissing down, just as I had everything out of the garage and onto the drive for a spring clean. After hurriedly chucking everything back the garage looks worse than ever.

Blazing sunshine at 0600 meaning it's so bright in the bedroom that I wake up and can't get back to sleep.
