First up is a set of Vertex Solfonn 1M balanced XLR analogue interconnects.

These are brand new (latest "raised badge" version) and have never been used. £660 new. Asking £295.

The main feature is the Vertex AQ Acoustic Absorption technology. This acoustic absorption provides a 'sink' that drains acoustic energy out of the conductors, but still allows the signal through with no additional resistance, impedance or reactance. There are no electronic components fitted - the acoustic absorption is achieved by purely mechanical/material means.
The signal is carried by a good silver-plated OFC conductor with PTFE insulation, and very high quality silver-plated Neutric XLR connectors are used for excellent signal transfer. Compared to other interconnects with a similar standard of conductor, the Solfonn offers one significant
advantage - the acoustic absorption module drains away unwanted energy from the cable, and the input and output circuits of the components at either end! What this does to performance is pretty significant. By reducing the acoustic noise floor Vertex lower microphonic effects within the cable and within the input and output circuitry the cable is connected to. Furthermore, the cable also effectively prevents unwanted acoustics traveling between components via the interconnect. This can be particularly significant when
connecting a high energy component (an amp say) to a much more sensitive component (like a phono stage).

But what sort of improvements do you hear? Well, the reduction of unwanted acoustics, and hence the reduction of the associated microphony, brings big improvements to clarity and transparency as well as noticeably less distortion in upper frequencies. There is also far more coherence in the time domain, with less smearing to dynamics and rhythms in the music. Overall these traits bring a much more organic sound to a performance - music is solid yet quick when required, tonality is richer and more vibrant and the recording venue more palpable.

Also available for sale is a 1.8M Vertex Roraima Plus mains lead (latest version). Fitted with UK 13amp mains plug and Wattgate-type IEC connector. £562 new. Asking £285.

The Roraima Plus has a larger module on the cable which, in addition to the usual acoustic absorption, contains a standard Jaya filter circuit. These combination products simply give you the benefits of the Roraima technology
combined with the excellent filtering performance of the Jaya circuits. Note that the filter circuit in these products is in parallel (shunt), not in series, so there are no current limitation issues.

Finally, a Vertex Silver Jaya Plus mains filter (latest version). £572 new. Asking £295.

The Silver Jaya offers significant performance improvements over the standard Jaya. This is brought about in 2 ways. Firstly, the captive lead and internal wiring use a high purity solid-core conductor with Teflon
insulation. Secondly, the filter circuit is more comprehensive with more high-frequency elements to reduce the filter impedance at very high frequencies.
In terms of sound quality, what you get really is more of what the standard Jaya does. There is even more release from the debilitating effects of RFI. The sound gets even sweeter but also more detailed, and that
detail becomes incredibly natural and easy to access. Transparency improves again, with even more space around performers and much more tonal definition of sounds. Perceived bandwidth improves too, and useable dynamic range becomes even greater, with less fatigue.
