I am delighted that I can confirm to any of those interested that the Wam Show for this year has been announced and confirmed details can be seen on the link below . It is scheduled for Sunday 29th October close to Barnsley . I think all those that attended the last show 2022 in Stoke had hoped that we could go back and make that a long term venue , but the UK Gov had other ideas and have taken over the hotel for Asylum Seekers . A long hard search was then again on the the Show Team and they have found and booked a new venue . This show is very different to all other Shows in that there will be little if any selling going on apart from perhaps Vinyl . Most of the rooms will be taken up by people like me using a home system often rather stranger than most but hopefully sounding really good . Put the details in your diaries and if you can come and listen to some great music (remember to bring your own ) on some great systems . The form for wanting a room to exhibit is also now open and anyone who wants to can apply , no financial commitment at this time . Prices are still to be set but given the current speed of progress I would imagine it would be close to the end of Jan and things will be clear.

You're right Paul, it has moved further north, but it is still closer to the south east than say, Edinburgh or Glasgow. So all things considered, has probably never been more central. And may be good news for those living in the far north and Scotland, who to be fair, don't have a lot going on in the way of audio shows.

Apart from NEBO, the most fun you can have with your trousers on :)

had to look up where Barnsley is. Apparently it's in some place called Yorkshire.

It used to be in Lancashire, but we evicted it for not paying its rent.

Fair enough. Would there ever be the likelihood of two shows in the year to cater for more people,

I imagine organising the Wam show is only marginally easier than herding cats. To do it twice a year would be hell of an undertaking. If you're keen to attend but feel Barnsley is too far to be arsed, make it part of a weekend away. Plenty of other things to see and do in Yorkshire...

Harder I'd say if you know some of the members and their room demands not to mention food, drink, wifi etc.

Plenty of other things to see and do in Yorkshire...I exhibited at the first 3 or 4 shows at scalford and attended as a visitor other years. I can’t say I’m that keen to drive up there regardless of what else is on offer, after driving all over the uk for work and now thankfully retired

I can appreciate that Phil, I only drive if I have to, and if me and Mrs. P go anywhere she ALWAYS drives :)

Just to keep my promise and update things for those that do not frequent the Wam forum . The advance sale for tickets for the show is now working and anyone who wants to can pre pay at a discount price for the tickets. I am going to have a room again this year and i will be showing my two way active system which is using Linn Sara 9 speakers . I will be in room 240 so anyone who does go please call in and say hello . You are welcome to ask me to play any music that you would like to hear or load up some on a flash drive .

I'll be there too, sharing a room with Mike (JacHawk). He's doing vinyl, and I'll be doing CD stuff with my set up to fill in the gaps :)

It's taken me years to get the sort of sound I now have and to uproot the whole caboodle and attempt to recreate it in a hotel room must be the third sign of madness!

Some days at Puffin's "an inch here and a mm there, err....no, that's not good...shift it all back.....fuck....iv'e buggered it for nothing"

Hat off to all those who succeeded which were quite a few according to the report and pics on the WAM.

This was my favourite room. Icon Audio, Highly specc'd LP12, Klipsch Cornwalls. Hearing Roger Waters' "Us and Them" album through this was something I won't forget in a hurry. Just awesome, and so much better than the broom cupboard they gave him last year at Stoke.

He was getting a pretty good sound in the broom cupboard though. The only time I have heard Cornwalls sound good.
