A friend of mine learned Gaelic when he moved up to Achiltibuie. Unfortunately he never learned the Gaelic for "That's enough booze for me, I'm going home". Fell asleep pissed one night, and never woke up :(

It wasn't by any means a one off - I'd known him since our teens, and his life was always er, colourful. Worked off trawlers in the north Atlantic for a number of tears, worked hard, played hard. Lost touch in his final years, but saw photos of him. If it weren't for the tattoos i would never have recognised him. Liver was completely shot, and was warned about the drinking many times.

We turned out for his funeral in Inverness. His mum and dad were strangely at peace with it - they knew it was only a matter of time.
