View Full Version : wtd - anyone close to eton wick who can solder a loose cap?
HI,
i have a capacitor in an el34 power amp that has come away at one end.
Looks a simple fix, with good access.
Is anyone close to eton wich who can help with this?
Photo below.
Thanks.

I'd have done this for you, no probs, but, your miles away!!!
It's the thought that counts! Thanks anyway.
If you fancy driving to me I can sort that for you, I live in Woolhampton, Reading.

Thanks, i will keep that in mind.
Philip, have you considered doing this yourself?
Judging from the picture it is only one Solen cap that has come adrift.
A cheap soldering iron and a tiny bit of solder will do it. Always useful to have anyway for odd jobs around the house.
Perhaps consider this (https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/143499480994)?

My eyesight isn't up to it.
But the kind gent who sold me my kef 104/2 is coming over to fix the cap.
So all good.
